Toubkal day 1: Marrakech – Toubkal basecamp
You will be picked up by your guide and be driven direction south to the High Atlas Mountains to reach Imlil village after about 1 hour, the famous starting point for Toubkal ascents (1740m). Toubkal day 2: Basecamp – Ascent day – Imlil
Early breakfast followed by a 3-hour hike up to your goal, the highest North African peak: Jebel Toubkal (4167m). Depending on the season, the way leads over some snowfields. After about 2 hours, you reach the ridge from where you get the first stunning view around you. You then follow the ridge for another few hundred meters of elevation and soon reach the long-awaited summit. If the air is clear, you get a good view of surrounding summits such as Jebel Siroua (3300m) or Jebel Ouankrim (4083m). After a short break to catch your breath and take plenty of summit photos, we head back down to the refuge. Back at the refuge, extensive and delicious lunch prepared by our cook is waiting for you. After you are strengthened again, we walk down the same way back to Imlil. 8 to 9h walking. (1000 m up, 2400m down ). B.L.D
Toubkal ascent desert tour day 3: Imlil – Ait Ben haddou – Dades valley
After breakfast, you get ready to leave the Toubkal National Park behind and drive South-East over the high road of Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass (2260m) and drive down to Ait Ben Hadou Ksar (UNESCO world heritage). Toubkal desert tour day 4: Dades valley – Toudra gorge – camel ride – berber camp in Merzouga
From the Gorge, we drive back to Boumaln Dades and continue our drive to the city of Tinghir and to the equally scenic Gorges of Toudgha. After a visit to the gorge, we continue driving south through Tinghir, with a lunch stop in Tinjdad. After lunch, we carry on to Erfoud and visit the system of irrigation in the desert. The journey continues to Merzouga, the door to the desert, where you can see Erg Chebbi one of the highest sand dunes in Morocco. After arrival at a hotel in Merzouga, for a short break, you will continue your journey on a camel, which will take you through the dunes to the camp in the middle of the dunes where you will spend the nights. 6h drive. Toubkal ascent desert tour day 5: Erg Chebbi – Draa valley – Ouarzazte – Marrakech
Wake up early morning to enjoy the unforgettable sunrise in the desert and ride the camel back to the hotel, where you can have breakfast and take a warm shower. Then drive back to Ouarzazat via Nkoub, Tazarin, Oued Draa… Stop for lunch in the Door to the desert in Ouarzazate. After lunch, the way will lead you back to Marrakech over the Tizi-n-Tichka pass where the tour ends after you get dropped at your hotel where our 5-day Toubkal & desert tour ends.
