Day 1: Arrival and Acclimatization in Marrakech

This evening, enjoy a traditional Moroccan meal. Get a good night’s rest to prepare for your journey into the desert.

Day 2: Journey to Mhamid desert

Start your day with an early departure from Marrakech. Travel to Mhamid, a small town that serves as a gateway to the desert. The drive will take you through varied landscapes, including the Atlas Mountains and arid plains. Upon arrival in Mhamid, meet your camel caravan and begin your trek into the desert. Camp near Mhamid or in a nearby dune area for your first night under the stars.

Day 3: Mhamid Sahara to Sidi Naji

From Mhamid, embark on a camel trek to Sidi Naji. This area is known for its beautiful, expansive dunes and unique desert scenery. Enjoy a day of hiking through the dunes and setting up camp at Sidi Naji. Here, you can relax and soak in the peaceful desert environment. You have the option to explore nearby dunes. Alternatively, you can relax at your camp.

Day 4: Sidi Naji to Erg Zahar

Continue your desert adventure with a trek from Sidi Naji to Erg Zahar. The journey will take you through various desert landscapes, providing ample opportunities for exploration and photography. Erg Zahar features stunning dunes and offers a serene setting for camping. After setting up camp, enjoy the tranquility of the desert, with a traditional Moroccan meal and storytelling by the campfire.

Day 5: Erg Zahar to Ras Nkhl

On Day 5, trek from Erg Zahar to Ras Nkhl. This area is known for its dramatic dunes and unique desert flora. The trek will be a blend of scenic beauty and physical challenge, offering a deep immersion into the desert landscape. Set up camp at Ras Nkhl, where you can enjoy the expansive views and peaceful environment of the Sahara.

Day 6: Ras Nkhl to Ait Ben Haddou

Begin your journey back towards civilization, heading from Ras Nkhl to Ait Ben Haddou. Ait Ben Haddou is a historic ksar (fortified village). It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known for its stunning earthen architecture. Arrive in the afternoon and explore this ancient site, which has been featured in numerous films. Spend the night in a local guesthouse or hotel, enjoying a blend of desert and historical experiences.

Day 7: Return to Marrakech

Travel back to Marrakech, retracing your route through the varied Moroccan landscapes. Upon arrival, check into your accommodation. Spend your final evening in Marrakech by taking a tour with the local guide. We later enjoy a relaxing last dinner meal at a local restaurant.

Day 8: Departure

On your final day, enjoy a leisurely breakfast and some last-minute exploration or relaxation in Marrakech. Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a final visit to the city. Also, opt for a relaxing spa session. Head to the airport for your departure, carrying with you the rich experiences and memories of your Sahara adventure.
