Camel trek Chgaga sand dunes itinerary

• Day 1: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou

hotel or Arrival and cross the Atlas mountains to the famous Ait Benhaddou Kasbah.
Once you arrive at the airport, you will find your tour guide and driver waiting for you, you then leave Marrakech and drive over the Atlas Mountains, then along the Onilla valley to get to Ait Ben haddou for the night in a hotel. Afternoon to visit Ait Ben haddou Kasbah. 4,5h driving and 1h walking

Camel trek over a small pass of Laawj

• Day 2: Ouarzazate – Tizi-n-Laawj

You leave Ouarzazate and drive over the dry mountain range of the Anti Atlas, on the way, we get to cross some traditional Berber villages, continue our drive to get to Jabel Bani, here we will meet our camel drivers and start our hike, overnight in camp. 4h drive and 2h walking.

• Day 3: Erg Lihoudi

Today after breakfast, we will leave the camp walking along a valley, then small uphill there you will get a wonderful view of Chgaga sand dunes, lunch stop under tamarisk trees afternoon will be crossing some small dunes to get to Erg Lihoudi dunes where you will spend the night in tents. 5 to 6h walk

Chgaga sand dunes, the highest dune

• Day 4: Chgaga

Walkthrough the Chgaga sand dunes, 5h walk and overnight in camp, today evening, after we enjoy magic sunset, we get to collect some wood to make campfire and Lmella dread (amazing sand bread that nomads eat every day).

Camel trek Aabidlia dunes

• Day 5: Aabidlia

Today we have a beautiful walk in between the high dunes of the region, about 4h walk to get to our camp for the night in L’Abid Lia, evening to climb to the top of the highest dunes for the magic sunset and back to the camp where we enjoy our last.

• Day 6: Ouarzazate

You driver will join you as you enjoy our last team meal breakfast together, here you will leave the camel drivers and get in your 4×4 through the dunes till M’Hamed El Ghizlan, there we will join the actual road, nice drive along the Draa valley and spend the night in Ouarzazate…

• Day 7: Marrakech

drive back to Marrakech, stop for lunch on the way. We will get to Marrakech around 3pm, so you get to see some of Marrakesh as well and maybe if you want to get some last souvenirs. Overnight in a Riad in the old Medina.
