6 days M’goun trekking Itinerary


Depart Marrakech and journey towards the Ait Bouguemez Valley, a scenic drive that spans approximately 5 hours. This picturesque valley, known as the “Happy Valley,” serves as the gateway to your trek. Arrive in the village of Timite. You will be hosted in a local guesthouse. It is surrounded by stunning landscapes of terraced fields and traditional Berber architecture. In the late afternoon, start your hike towards the granary of Sidi Mousa. Enjoy a wonderful view over the valley.


Continue your trek through the Ait Bouguemez Valley, passing through verdant valleys and Berber villages. Trek towards Ikiss-n-Arouss where you will camp for the night, immersed in the natural beauty of the Atlas Mountains.


Embark on a challenging ascent towards the Tarkeddit Plateau. This day’s trek takes you deeper into the heart of the Atlas Mountains. It offers breathtaking views. You also get a chance to experience the peaceful serenity of the plateau. Camp under the starry sky at Tarkeddit Plateau, M’goun base camp 2930m high.


Your trek’s highlight begins with an early morning summit attempt of M’goun. It is Morocco’s second highest peak at 4,071 meters. Enjoy panoramic views of the High Atlas range from the summit. Then descend to Izabiyn. You’ll camp there for the night.


Begin your descent from Izabiyn Arous. Trek back through the valley towards Tabant. Then continue to Timite. Retrace your steps through the landscapes and villages you’ve come to know during your journey.


Enjoy breakfast in Timite. Depart for Marrakech via Azilal. Reflect on the incredible experiences. Remember the memories made during your 6-day adventure in the Atlas Mountains.
