4 days atlas mountain trek itinerary

Day 1 : Marrakech to Tacheddirt – Morocco mountains

You will be picked up by your guide and during the next one and half hours you will enjoy a ride in a 4×4 drive to Oukaimden(2400m), where your adventure starts and you meet your group muleteers, who will organise the transport of everything you need during the trek. Now by foot, you follow the small road up to Tizi-n-Addi mountain pass (2960m) with great view to Mount Toubkal, highest peak of Morocco, and Imnan valley. After lunch on the pass you head down on a small trail to reach Tacheddirt where you will spend the night in a Gite. 5 to 6 hours walking.

Day 2 : Tacheddirt to Matat Valley – Atlas Mountains trek

After breakfast you walk down through the valley of Imnan and pass by many traditional mud house villages. After reaching Ikiss, you cross the river to hike over the mountain pass Tizi-n-Agerssiwal (2000m). From the pass you can see your destination, Mattat valley and the village of Agerssiwal where lunch is waiting for you. After lunch in Agerssiwal you walk up the to a Gite to spend the night. 5 to 6 hours walking.

Day 3 : Mattat to Azib Tamssoult – Trekking Atlas Mountains

Start the day by hiking up to Tizi-n-Oudit mountain pass (2119m), where you get to enjoy a first view to the Azzaden valley. On the way down you pass through the village of Aid Aissa and along the Azzaden valley until Tizi Oussem for the lunchbreak. After lunch follow the valley up to get to the traditional summer village of Tamssoult, where a refuge offers shelter for the night (2250m). 6 hours of walking.

Day 4 : Azib Tamssoult to Marrakech – Atlas Mountains adventure

A short excursion further up the valley leads you to the stunning waterfall of Ighoulidn. Then you retrace your steps and take the trail towards Tizi-n-Mezzik mountain pass (2489m) from where you can enjoy a marvelous view over the whole Imlil area, famous goal for day excursions from Marrakech and starting point for many other Treks. After a last field lunch on the mountain pass, only a short walk will lead you down to Imlil, from where the driver takes you back to Marrakech. 5 hours walking and 1:30 drive.
